Even if you think you haven’t heard Lisa Shaw before, the chances are you have heard her dulcet tones adorning some of the very best in West Coast house. It’s good to see her getting a well deserved second long player all to herself, and with spotless production from the likes of Dave Warrin, Tim K and Migs himself, this is an album that puts you under its spell pretty much immediately. Not much has changed in the vocal department, but when you have one of house music’s best voices, why should it?! The vocals are soulful and warm, the lyrics a lot more imaginative than your average house track, and with some reassuringly solid beats, the sound is well nigh perfect for summer. It stands up to repeated listening well too – intelligent deep house that works equally well on a crowded dancefloor, in a bar or on the home stereo.
