TIEFSCHWARZ
MISH MASH
FINE

Ali and Basti the talented Schwarz brothers are everywhere right now. They play in the world’s best discotheques and their sound concocted with studio sidekick Jochen Schmalbach is sweeping clubland in a big way. Detractors will complain that they’re not exactly electro whilst others will swear they’re definitely not house, however their secret probably lies in the fact that they’re a bit of both and more (they started out as deep house DJs and in fact share a fondness for all kind of sounds). Always going for the unexpected their ingeniously programmed productions strike that killer balance between solid groove and druggy edge, human feel and robotic pace. Now by finally rallying all kind of DJs to its fucked up call their remix of Spektrum’s “Kinda New” has arguably become “the” underground anthem of 2004. Their first DJ mix released in the UK “Misch Masch” is unfortunately a touch more noodly and deeper than their impressive rocking club sets. However it remains an essential buy for the bonus CD alone which offers most of their recent groundbreaking remixes (Phonique, Hell, Mocky, Blow, DJTal, Lopazz, Unit 4 and Spektrum!).
