This star studded latest from Timbaland is almost like a ‘who’s who’ of American chart acts at the moment, but manages to keep its identity through the distinctive production style of its author. Some of the tracks here are an intriguing collision of styles, with Fallout Boy, The Hives and Elton John unlikely guests. Familiar Timbaland collaborators Missy Elliott and Justin Timberlake sound more at ease, and the beats are characteristically inventive, evoking a real primeval sound in tracks like ‘Bounce’. Nineteen tracks make it feel a bit like a compilation – but Timbaland’s inventiveness sees him through.
