There are indeed many facets to Travis Blaque, and he communicates them directly to the listener with sharp lyrics and a bit of soul. His storytelling is captivating throughout, whether it’s painting pictures of others (‘Al Is Dead’, which features Dom G) or an insight into life as a single dad (‘A Song for Troy’). It’s obvious to say it, but it’s refreshing to hear a rap album where the words are so clear, and so poetically written. With producers Keith Lawrence, 3rd Floor and Jason Moe doing a great job in support this is an understated treat – definitely worth a good many listens.
