Ursula 1000, aka Alex Gimeno, has always come across as a man that makes energetic, sometimes madcap music. The fact this is a CD of remixes doesn’t quell that impression, as this is an excellent and varied compilation of grooves, both dancefloor and bar based. Fort Knox Five excel with a fine remix of Electrik Boogie, while the All Good Funk Alliance bring Kaboom to the centre of the floor. The real bonus, however, comes in the form of new track ‘Step Back’, featuring Sista Widey, given an abrasive remix from Deekline and Ed Solo. Add some minimal techno and breaks, and you have a collection for all seasons.
