Silver Planet

From the label that has brought us Timo Maas, James Holden and more recently Luke Dzierzek, ’11’ is a celebration of Silver Planet’s 11-years of releasing quality underground tunes and discovering unique talent. Even with an impressive 80 releases under their belts, this is anything but a retrospective. Instead the triple CD showcases its current roster of artists mixed a side a piece by their new breed of producers: BCML (Ben Camp & Mat Leuwyler), Ben Camp on his tod and Paul Sparkes. Each showcases unreleased tracks along with the odd Silver Planet classics thrown in for good measure. The label’s keen ear for nurturing talent and their love of warm danceable grooves, with a strong and sometimes tech-edge, are reflected in the very essence of this conceptual collection. Built upon a foundation of contemporary studio gadgets, trusty Moog and Roland synths and the odd vocalists added for good measure, each side combines to create a high-octane opus of electronica. With a wealth of hot unreleased tracks thrown in for good measure there’s more than enough incentives for the occasional record buy and the obsessive alike.
