There was never any doubt that Digitalism’s offering for the DJ Kicks series would be packed full of energy – and so it proves. The mix is packed with exclusives from the duo, so you can enjoy ‘Fallin’, ‘Silenz’ and ‘The Pictures’, great slabs of chunky funk that show their style to still be in keeping with the very best of French house – think a kind of cross between Daft Punk and Justice. There are a number of home runs elsewhere, in the shape of WhoMadeWho’s ‘The Sun’, Alex Gopher’s ‘Brain Leech’ and an exclusive Digitalism remix of The Rapture’s ‘Sail Away’. Throughout the party vibe is strong, and although the tempo stays a bit slower than you might expect, that’s not a problem when the funk is felt so keenly. Go forth and dance!
