‘Cute & Cult’ is a handy title, giving Agoria license to throw pretty much anything he wants into the space of a CD, and it works handsomely. An inventive tracklisting contains diversities such as Iggy Pop’s ‘Nightclubbing’, an excellent mix of Swayzak’s ‘Another Way’ and a few underground hits – 69’s ‘Filter King’ rocking the dancefloor. Throw in an atmospheric film score from Angelo Badalamenti, classics from the Age of Love and LFO and you have an outstanding, original CD, incredibly well mixed – even into the final solo piano take on ‘Strings of Life’ from Francesco Tristano. Not bad for your first compilation release!
