An overdue removal of the cap for Berlin’s Tresor club, undoubtedly one of the most important venues to ever stoke the development of techno. After 14 years of that eternal pulse throbbing from the old treasury vault depths, the venerable cauldron shut its doors for the last time last April. But we still have the label to carry on propagating the lethal innovations of the club’s friends. The double set sees a stellar procession, headed by the always devastational Joey Beltram [including ‘The Signal Path’] closely followed by DJ Rush, Steve Bicknell, The Advent, Jay Denham, Sterac and a horde of varied electronic electronic stylists who all manage to capture the club’s inimitable vibe. The music ranges from brutal stomp-ups to old school acid house, closing with DJ T-1000’s sublime ‘The After hours’, an epic acid growler riddled with UR spirit. This is the entire spectrum of techno as heard emanating from the earth’s core. No way is it over.
