The energetic Danish trio, known for their enjoyably zany live shows, aren’t necessarily the first band you would think of on a label like Kompakt, but ‘Knee Deep’ proves the pair are a good match. This is the first of two mini albums from the band this year, and shows how they’ve mastered a blend of pop song and extended mix, with plenty of funk applied. They do instrumentals well, too, and ‘Musketeer’ is a cracker, while ‘There’s An Answer’ succeeds with its dash of analogue warmth and bass clarinet. As bonuses there are several remixes of the single ‘Every Minute Alone’, a red blooded stomper and the album’s crowning glory.
