Bold Parade, aka Paul McMahon, has been well known for his luscious Soul, Latin, Funk and Jazz fusions since he released his debut album, ‘Two Leaves Falling’ last year. For Autumn 2024, he’s back with a superb new 5 track EP, ‘Never Give Up, Never Give In’ on Suzume, featuring the delightful vocal talents of regular cohorts, Yanmife Ajolore, Marti Buchanan and newly discovered artist, Imole Ayo.
Showcasing his knack to travel across genres, The EP kicks off with the piano led title track, ‘Never Give Up, Never Give In’, with its groovy bassline and warm vocals courtesy of Yanmife. ‘Rise Up’ comes with an infectious organic afro-boogie treat, teased with vibrant brass melodies, as Imole delivers an empowering message. ‘Uplift’ is a sublime retro jazz affair, where a plethora of trumpets, flutes, organ and piano melodies dance around snappy beats. ‘Uplift’ is a sensual slice of dance floor soul complete with a seductive vocal from Marti. Closing out this classy package, Members Of The Lifestyle deliver a superb sun drenched Latin re-vibe of ‘Never Give Up, Never Give In’, overflowing with layers of pretty melodies and lush percussive beats. Altogether a really lovely package of sumptuous heartfelt grooves.
