Kitsune Tabloid - Mixed By The Twelves

Kitsune Tabloid - Mixed By The TwelvesThese ‘Tabloid’ mixes are busy affairs, and previous instalments from Phoenix and Digitalism have given plenty of value for money – so not surprisingly The Twelves step up with a genre-busting selection of 24 tracks on one disc. This disc is split in to two mixes, the first concentrating on their own reworkings of the likes of Metric, Black Strobe and Two Door Cinema Club, the second going heavy on the funk. It’s the second one that works best, especially when euphoric moments like The Paradise’s ‘In Love With You’ and The Juan Maclean’s ‘The Simple Life’ sit side by side. Quirkiness abounds too, with Zongamin, Chaz Jankel and Daniel Wang, while Twin Shadow wrap things up with the appealing ‘Shooting Holes’. It’s all busy – but all good, too.
