Inside is a substantial twelve track album from Digital 21 (Miguel López Mora) and Stefan Olsdal of Placebo. They employ a selection of guest vocals to bring their powerful, moody music to life – and of these Margrét Rán makes an especially strong impact, sounding a little like Björk in her vocal to the opening ‘Spaces’. Rich string textures raise this and ‘Toi et moi’ to a higher plain, while ‘Who Are All Of You?’ kicks off with a driving rhythm – but elsewhere the tunes are a bit too telegraphed and don’t sound quite so natural. Still, worth exploring if you’re after something new and a bit cinematic.
