Bristol’s DJ Die has been a long time collaborator with Roni Size, as well as being an integral link in the Full Cycle chain. Well now Die has gone and set up his own record label Clearskyz, and to launch it he’s delivered a scorching double header. “Slow Burn” goes direct to the dancefloor, picking up snatches of jazzy hooks and firing them off over infectious rhythms. On the flip you’ll find the stunning “The Reasons Why Ft. Ben Westbeech”, it totally oozes out there soul. If Marvin Gaye wanted to update his “What’s Going On” period, the results probably wouldn’t be too far removed from this. “The Reasons Why Ft. Ben Westbeech” is gonna make an impact right across the board. Quite simply Drum’n’Bass to die for.
