GET PHYSICAL MIAMI MIXED BY DUBSPEEKA

A darker side to Miami this year for Get Physical, courtesy of Bristol’s Dubspeeka, who has put together a compilation with a few of his own exclusives as bait. These are dark and minimal but pretty spacey too, heavy on the low range sounds but panning out nicely. Elsewhere the M.A.N.D.Y. double ‘Home’ (with Booka Shade, remixed by Steve Rachmad) and ‘Gizmo’ (remixed by Monoloc) work well, and so does a low slung remixed by Robert Hood of Azari & III’s ‘Extinction Event’, driving forward with plenty of energy. The biggest space is reserved for the end, where Dubspeeka’s ‘Land And Sea’ plays out as a gorgeous and timeless epilogue – a big beat with spectral keyboard effects around it, conjuring up a feeling of looking at the night sky in the heat. It’s a great way to finish a solid compilation.
