The irresistible, undulating funkiness of ‘Showtime’ from Mark Jenkyns and Christopher Sylvester aka 12 Stories is undoubtedly hot stuff. Working centre-stage in between taught Acid lines are a series of fiery hi-hats, rolling snares and effectively edgy vocal edits. Distinctive for sure this breathes a welcome sense of fresh air into the genre. ‘Night Obscure’ happens next with more sizzling Acid undercurrents twisting into the rhythm section while more neat vocal cuts work their way into your consciousness. Yet another effortlessly cool track that also boats a more booming rendition care off Bunte Bummler, which take it from me is insanely and tastefully heavy.
