I cannot wait to play this beautiful EP out – it ticks all my boxes for dark tech wonkiness and makes me wriggle and giggle like a kid with a new toy. ‘Pyramid’ is a throbbing, pulsing, vibrating slab of speaker phreaking, dinky synth wonkiness that will rock any club to within an inch of its life. The bass is fearsome, the synths are sexy and the percussion will make you feel like Baloo scratching his back on that coconut tree in the Jungle Book. You will hear me play this in any dark, sweaty space. It’s a fist pumper par excellence. ‘Synthetic’ is a hard jacking, foot stomping workout that will staple your feet to the dancefloor and your hands to the ceiling. It’s dancefloor violence with a funky groove, blazing synth washes and a sustained bass note that will tear a hole in your speaker cones. It’s like an aural energy drink spiked with acid. Finally ‘Neverland’ is a proper percolator, rhythmically inviting, getting weird with the modulating keys, brooding with the sulky bass and leading you into a dark and twisted playground for the senses. Three tracks – each strong enough to stand alone and collectively powerful enough to make this my new favourite friend. Wonderful.
