What a great record. I love the fact that you have absolutely no idea what to expect as the opening beats feel gritty and expressive yet don’t suggest that such a stunning vocal delivery lies in store from Black Soda. Spun out across a hypnotic ten minutes this is certainly music of quality and distinction espousing the best qualities of voice and electronic instrumentation. dOP then surpass themselves by supplying two alternative takes with the ‘Early remix’ squeezing every last emotional drop out of the additional vocals and soaring synth lines, while their ‘Late’ Dub completes with a loser arrangement of percussion and teasing sonic beauty.
