The four tracks on offer here each tease out different styles and influences and that makes this release as a whole all the more exciting. First up is the excellent ‘‘Physical Thing’ featuring Berlin vocalist Kristina Sheli and it plays with rough, grinding rhythms which are suitably contrasted by tender vocals along with an experimental sense of musical occasion. ‘Walk On by’ then proceeds with tougher, funkier dancefloor grooves that also come charged with emotive vocal touches and notably sassy snare drums. Next, ‘Write Your Hits’ takes a Techno direction with unrelenting booms and bashes sounding edgy and insistent. And finally, the impeccable ‘Zon’ ends on hot tribal beats alongside the creative thinking employed across the generously rich chords of the breakdown.
