Kicking off with Alex Neri’s excellent Dub version for Steve Lawler’s VIVa transports you straight to the glory days via some irresistible, syncopated drum programming that spells out the word Jack loud and proud. Add in the brilliant bassline and the music does all the talking necessary. Conversely, his Mix version sequences tough stabs and more Tech orientated flavours to the production, which also features a great breakdown care of some fiery 909 snares. Burnski’s NYC Mix takes a deeper approach with shuffling breaks feeling particularly effective amid cool basslines and weird FX, with those classic drums still sounding classic. Federico Grazzini then rides a rhythm pitched somewhere between Chicago and New York with a great b-line firing alongside commanding synth tones to provide another first rate remix on this standout release.
