ANDY CATO
LA LUNA
AZULI SILVER

Not only Single of the Week, but quietly likely my record of the year if only losing out to the charm and retro goodness of ‘Crazy’. This will be the record to enthrall the Ibiza terraces providing the perfect soundtrack to sunsets, sweaty raves and peak time clubbing moments. If anyone knows the perfect ingredients to create a white island classic, then it’s the Groove Armada man, and in a rare solo outing he’s created as near-to-perfect dance track that could be conceived. Atmospheric pads, lush piano chords, and an insinuating bassline, sit atop a groove peppered with samba beats and Latin know how. It may just be an instrumental at this stage (I say “just” as if it’s incomplete – it’s anything but), yet still expect a plethora of opportunist bootlegs to surface to cash in on the gap in the vocal market before the sun sets on Ibiza 2006. Massive in every possible way.
