First-rate and temptingly diverse EP from Appian who delivers three new tracks with suitable flair and imagination. The title excellent track, ‘Chatter’ begins with soulfully charged chords that soon become dislodged by rough beats and biting percussion, while referencing classic Deep House sounds for heightened tension. ‘Astronomer’ follows with atmospheric bleeps and voices which again fully engage you, as track no.3, ‘Operator’ then raids the Detroit achieve for inspiration and fulfils the promise with further twisted electronics fuelling the airwaves.
