Marasco – My Home EP

If you like tough, no nonsense house music that is aimed directly at your rump then this new EP from Marasco is for you. The producer seems to cut his grooves from tough stone as they are irresistible and immovable affairs that here come with remixes by Give Us The Tools and David Durango. Overall, then, this EP offers four meaty cuts that any DJ worth his salt needs in his bag.

First up is My Home, a crisp, clean cut that Darius Syrossian would defiantly play in one of his no messing house sets. The remix of it by David Durango is busier and has more going on. It’s shuffly and trippy and makes for a great bit of grooving. Marco’s other original is Silver Lining, which is another fat bottomed bit of hose with well rooted kicks, slinky percussion and lithe, dynamic synths that add plenty of movement to the beats. Lastly, Give Us The Tools remixes and does so in bold main room style. His wobbly groove comes embellished with great synths, breathy vocal stabs and lots of widescreen vibes. All four of the jams here is well made, well intentioned and well placed to become big hitters in the coming months.
