If this is the first time you’ve heard of Bambook, then we’re pretty confident that you’ll be hearing much more from this Swedish duo over the next while. This Swedish pair made carefully considered and luscious house and techno, so it thus comes as no real surprise that they’ve managed to get their latest outing signed to the always on-point Jeudi label thanks to the accomplished sounds of ‘Tow the Line’. Ironically, this is an EP that does indeed straddle different guises, but the overall vibe that we’re left with here is one that’s hard to fault, as everything on display here is positively glowing in quality. Up first we have the astute and killer sounds of the title track. While it’s a close-run thing, it’s the highlight of the package. Serene and waif-like in parts, the latter plays off beautifully against Name One’s sensual vocal contribution. Hypnotic and unerring in parts, it’s house music at its most dizzyingly effective. The B-side is ‘Träume’, another track that’s glowing with meticulous details and mounds of well thought-out and executed melodic perfection. As catchy as what’s arrived before, it really neatly rounds off an EP that’s thrilling from the outset. A job really well done by all concerned.
