The Tribal Pulse label continues to pick up steam here with a new two tracker from Boom Merchant and Kaban & Di Rugerio that is full fat and funky for your dancing pleasure. It comes on the heels of last year’s hugely successful Stars/Green Symphony with another perfect balance of rhythmic and melodic elements.
First cut Overflow by Kaban & Di Rugerio is a rude boy house cut with retro bass, tribal percussion and lots of cosmic energy all permeating the groove. It builds and builds then pulls back before exploding once more and is a real floor filler, make no mistake. Then comes Surge from Boom Merchant, which indeed does deal in big booming drums, tough hits and slick, sci-fi synths., Full of kinetic energy and bouncing about all over the place, it’s a really physical cut that will make people move this limbs without a care in the world. Once again, then, the Tribal Pulse label has served up the red hot house goods as we head into Spring.
