Meant to bring this gem from David van der Leeuw and Luigi Vittorio Jansen to you a while back but just in case you haven’t already this then please do so. The title track, ‘Searchin’ feels nervous yet reassuring via its crisp and addictive drum machines which sound fashionably classic and therefore suitably contemporary. Aided by the title as the yearning vocal line plus fiery snare splashes this is stripped down and essential House Music. Borrowed Identity supply the remix turning it around with moody atmospherics and brutal kicks providing a cool alternative. Remaining originals, ‘Raindance’ and the effervescent ‘Ominous’ complete the picture firstly with commanding Chicago rhythms galore and secondly with sleazy electronics feeling hot and heavy.
