From the opening notes of ‘Breathe’ you can tell there is a musical mind at play behind the artfully chosen chords. Matters only become more intensified with the introduction of the icy cool, sensuously breathy vocals delivered by Karen Gibson Roc that add zest to this production, amid the pulsating electronic beats and hypnotic atmospheric synths swirling around the stereo. To confirm those notions is the final track,’ 561595’ with its series of classically attuned piano hits and twisting, tense ambience feeling almost as good as anything you’ll hear this side of late seventies Brian Eno. ‘Cloaked Mix’ on the other hand fuels a techno need and an unsettling result, with the releases’ only remix by Shlomi Aber adding to that fire with his interpretation of the title track sounding conversely and temptingly brutal.
