Bimas & AudioHell – Destroy (8bit)

8Bit is the Nick Curly label that has come back into focus in recent times. It was always known for its loopy tech house and this new release is no different. It comes from AudioHell in cahoots with Bimas and is a follow up to the former’s killer Acid Weeks EP back in 2015. To finish it off with aplomb, one of the originals also comes with a remix by DC10 legend Tania Vulcano and Jose De Divina.

The Hole is a deep and dark, punchy number with groaning bass, loopy drums and the sort of svelte percussion that makes this sounds so infectious. Forever Yours is next and is a more wild and baking cut, with loose synths spraying about above physical drums. Chattering claps bring a rawness and Chicago feel and Destroy is then more cut back, with emphasis on the excellent design of the airy hi hats and rocking beats. This one will keep kids dancing for days, for sure. It is acclaimed DC10 and Circo Loco associate Tania Vulcano who remixes with Jose and their take on the Destroy track is playful and reserved, with bumpy drums and hi hats dancing in mid air. Full of suspense and weird vox, it is a classic Loco tune that will hook in any one who knows their stuff.
