Bodyjack’s Throwdown EP is a three track bag of tumbling tussling tub rave rockers that will happily give you the beginning, the middle and the end of any tech house set. It’s up to you to choose where to place them. ‘The Throwdown’ steps into the ring, bare to the waist with all the posture and swagger of a brutish prize fighter – it doesn’t pause for breath until the razored disco vocal loop lightens the tone. ‘All Werk and No Play’ takes the old skool house snap and fingerpop template, gives it a shot of steroids straight to the forehead and blows your speaker cones with its buzzing bass. ‘Get Raw’ closes the package with a toms, timbales and whipcrack outing that could soundtrack any torture garden’s activities without a second thought.
