Cielo Dubai resident, Consoul Trainin’s ‘Roses’ is given the laidback, lazy sand shuffle treatment by Greece’s own Liva K. It’s an easy start but when the ‘I want to lay you down, in a bed of roses’ vocal drops you will leap out of your skin. Well I did. Don’t judge me for that either. I don’t startle easily. Gentle guitars strum in the background whilst a sax riffs, parping occasionally yet meaningfully in front. It’s just one of those records that once you play it you’ll be inseparable from it. Trust me. Saccao ups the tempo but turns down the lights for a moody, wavering rewiring that skulks in the shadows like a jealous ex. Satisfaction guaranteed from both.
