Many of us will remember ‘You’re The Best Thing’ or ‘Things Can Only Get Better’, which have been huge hits over Europe in the pop charts in the early 90s. D:Ream was the outfit behind those hits and surprisingly, after a long hiatus they are back with an album soon. Original members Al Mackenzie and Peter Cunnah now record as D:Ream and the first single they offer, is carefully remixed by North Street West aka Ashley Beedle, Darren Morris and Jo Wallace. Delivering three mixes, they all ooze Soul and Funk with a contemporary twist-of course of the highest quality you can get. The result are pretty impressive Vocal, Dub and Radio mixes which really deserve the term ‘Soulful House’. Added is the more commercial Original and another interesting remix from Retroforward (which seems to be a moniker by Al Mackenzie himself) who comes up with a slightly deeper Acid influenced version, that will certainly find its fans as well.
