Emanuel Satie – All Things Go EP – (Gruuv)

Young Berliner Emmanuel Satie delivers a breath taking ep for the house of Gruuv with mature confidence and aplomb. ‘All Things Go’ filters a soulful vocal into a chunky, jacking tech house arrangement that pops and overflows with enthusiasm and goodness like a multiplex popcorn machine. Audiojack bend it into a wobbling highwire walk with snipped and looped vocals to add just a little more tension to an already precarious tightrope. ‘To The Roots’ starts with the vocal laid bare over a slithering bassline then up goes the tempo and you’re jacking-in-whatever-box you can find. It’s twisted and super cool. ‘Do It’ closes the package with a bouncy, raw groove that embraces its dark side and the swelling, sustained strings that reflect the strange beauty therein. It’ll make you want to get down and dirty which is a glorious finish. Just saying.
