Fast cementing his position amongst the A-list producers, Emanuel Satie makes another direct dancefloor hit with ‘Sound the Alarm’. It’s a case of never smile at a crocodile with ‘Sound The Alarm’s crazy depth charged sub, bungee bouncing bass, suede edge kick and tick, tock percussion build. Add some chopped vocals, ‘whispered Wake Up’ vocal and an alarm clock ringing the encouragement you know the dancefloor is going to go batshit. Matthias Kaiden’s ‘ring the Balls’ remix is an imposing, whooshing, grating groove that drives on relentlessly and will twist your head cleanly off your shoulders like it’s a giant corkscrew. And to close ? ‘Strobe Lights’ is a straight up, thump and fist pump affair, with stuttery synth pads, a jittery, hyper- transformed breakdown and a severe snare roll that rocks you AND vibrates your skeleton. A release that makes you dribble like all of Pavlov’s dogs.
