The dig-‘em-up-and-remix-‘em ethos behind the re-emergence of First Choice, that first started in the late-90s, continues as yet another disco funk classic from their pre-Salsoul ‘70s heyday gets unearthed and retouched for contemporary consumption. David Wareing is responsible for the post-production makeover under his RedSoul guise that breaths new life into this Philly nugget via simple piano tinkling and a rambling bassline perfectly adhering to the original soaring strings and Rochelle Fleming’s powerhouse vocal. Previously re-tweaked by both Stonebridge and the Murk boys, this brace of new recreations further fuels the debate that they don’t make ‘em like they used to.
