Belfast’s Graeme L breaks out from underneath a nineteen year long shadow spent ghost writing and producing dance music for an array of stars to release his first foray under his own name. As to be expected, it’s phat, beautifully produced and rocks hard. ‘Give It A Chance’ is the strongest track – both remix and original create a solid, jacking vibe that jabs to the ribs and solar plexus with no conscience. Even if the frenzied drum rolls sail it a bit closer to the electro house / edm wind than I would like, ‘Pimpin’ will still cut it like a dealer’s blade on the dancefloor. With its encouraging effects, deep, resonant production and its challenging, polyrhythmic percussion it signals a very bright future for Graeme.
