The debut release from Joe Metzenmacher and Borka & The Gang’s brand new label, Heideton is stunning. The idea behind imprint is to support the region circling Hamburg/ Hannover/ Bremen but let’s hope that concept expands.
The EP starts with ‘C’mon’ which blends evocative atmosphere’s together with tough beats alongside a voice-over which delivers a pertinent message. Perhaps that all sounds somewhat simple but none-the-less this delivers the idea loud and clear. By sheer contrast, ‘About U’ feels Jazzy and brighter spun out across taught drums, with the looser grooves of ‘Heidefunk’ completing No.1 no less impressively.
