Rewind to 2003 and E-Samba was the sound of the summer gathering plaudits around the globe for its football / brazilian chanted samba magic. Now Christoph has given it the smooth, deep house arpeggiated once over it is ready to mine the underground. It’s a bleepy synth excursion with iron filings bouncing in the snares and hi hats that takes a good three and a half minutes to kick in but when the bass drops at the midway point you know there will be much one fingered dancing and waving of both wrists à la Italian mama to be done. It will even get a lot of shuffle. Yes still. And yes it’s a very good rewiring.
