Marc Ashken – Lupine EP – (Spilt Milk)

London promoter Spilt Milk launch its affiliate imprint with this tantalising production by Marc Ashken, which is not just deliciously sleazy but irresistibly so too. It’s a devilish combination of oddball effects and commanding piano keys which instantly hooks you in as straight-up beats and cutting hi-hats leave you reeling from the effects of the ice-cool spoken vocals – an Accapella, plus Beats version are also included. ‘Squat’ provides the second endearing title with acid synths pulsating over insistent voices, alongside more blistering FX, resulting in stunning music that at once teases and invigorates, with the accompanying ‘606 Edit’ sequencing unrelenting drum machines into ecstasy.
