Grain’s remix of Midland’s revered ‘Trace’ is a body pumping, anaerobic workout and a half. This is dark, rolling tech-funk for dirty discos and sleazy sweatboxes and never mind the fact that it probably has one of the fattest bottom ends you’ve heard since you came back from DC10. ‘For Yacht Club Use Only’ is a hooky, tech house waterworld that’s awash with lapping, liquidy effects and is set adrift by some high visibility, buoyant bassline hits. EPs like this keep the underground afloat.
