The theme running throughout Mr G’s latest album may be a poignant one but none-the-less once again provides life-affirming music which, if you’re into his distinct sound, reinvigorates the soul. Twelve tracks of twisted delight await you beginning with the lose funk of, ‘Faith’ and ending on the heavy beauty of, ‘Dark Heart’ the long player reaffirms his status as national treasure. The track list explores different narratives with the self-explanatory, ‘DAD’ telling its own story via cool, jazzy piano and insistent hi-hats providing a deeper sensibility than others on the album, such as the gloriously intense Mango Boy Red Eye Mix of,’ Thingz and Stuff’. Hitting a more soulful tone is,’ Lot to Say’ complete with emotive vocals, while the up-tempo,
’S O T Uz’ supplies yet another dancefloor workout for mind and body covering all angles necessary.
