Phreakin already eased in with Ben’s ‘Wait’ and now begin the main offensive with the first of three EPs planned for this year accompanied by an album. The title cut is a huge disco-funk house monster with ‘French Kiss’ elements in there and looks destined to wreak peak-time carnage. ‘Sleepwalking’ goes deeper, shimmering and sparked with a funky guitar. ‘Osmosis’ is a collaboration with Schmoov’s Andre Bosnor, recorded the morning after a big night before. A slow soul jazz-tinged jam with knackers obviously a distant memory. Definitely a name and label to watch as they unfold this year.
