I am seriously digging my Truesoul releases at the moment. Anything that grabs me by the funk ghoulies and makes me dance until it releases its grip always gets my vote and Reset Robot’s ‘Lost In A Duvet EP’ certainly does this. ‘Lost In a Duvet’ pummels you with its thai massage beats until the dark piano chords and plaintiff cry add a dramatic dancefloor dynamic. ‘Beep Beep’ is a stripped back, bleeps and bubbles vibe track that gets itself into a proper tizzy around the 4 minute mark for your listening and dancing pleasure. ‘Egg Burger’ is all over the happy humpday beatdown and Yourself shouts ‘Time’ with the ‘Yourself’ vocal loop, the ticking and clicking of claves, grating metallics and karate chop synth stabs. Techno soul for the funky generation.
