Prolific label Dichotomic has just released the 2 track EP ‘I Got Soul’, by Sichi, accompanied by a remix from Alexic Rod. Sichi is likely better known as JMekka, who has been on the scene for 15 years, and is a veteran in the breakbeat scene. He also runs another label, iBreaks as well as Dichotomic. ‘I Got Soul’ is an exploration into a new tech house sound. Whispering, intimidating, enticing vocals sit alongside firm bass and in this case, are matched up perfectly. It’s a grower, and and pulls listeners in before a well timed drop completes what is unarguably a top track, suited to almost any dance floor. Alexic Rod’s effort is a higher tempo affair from the start. What takes minutes to arrive in the original arrives in seconds. This remix is a hard-hitting, tense and bold track, likely to be dropped at peak hours, whereas its cousin is arguably best played early doors, setting the tone, or into the late hours. Either way, there’s no questions Dichotomic are on fire, and long may it continue.
