Next up on the mighty Diynamic label is a new EP from Stimming, one of the key players on this Hamburg outlet over the years, who collaborates for the first time with fellow German Johannes Brecht. Brecht is someone who has put out music on Poker Flat, Sunday Music and Mule and now shows he cuts it with the best of them.
In fact he goes with a fine solo effort that is just right for this label – Breath is a slow building but epic main room house track underpinned by windy bass, with rich melodies and keys up top. It really traps you in a fine, airy groove and never lets us leave. Boss man Solomun also turns out an edit of his own that has been purposely designed to make the most of magical memory and upward sweeping groove. Brecht then hooks up with Stimming, a fine sound designer, for Stekker. This one is all about the loose drums, jangling synths and expert bits of sonic craftsmanship that make it full of non standard sounds and inviting little hooks. It is for backrooms in the dead of night, frankly, then Stimming goes solo for Quecksilber. This one is a spine tingling emotive affair with grand trance chords, wavy beats and lots of off kilter and occult little hooks and sounds that really keep you locked.
