Lee M Kelsall is a British producer whose name you might recognise from his work at Hot Waves, MEXA and JEUDI Records to name but a few. Thee Cool Cats is a production outfit from Mexico, so how this one came together we’re not sure. Even so, it’s a really strong package with a killer sample that’s sure to win fans from all sections of the electronic music spectrum.
The original track, Thee Corner, is a whispy and seductive slice of house music that’ll go down a treat on Balearic shores. Taking its vocal cues from Suzanne Vega’s ‘Tom’s Diner’, it uses them to maximum effect. Really clever stuff this. On the flip we have a remix from Vanilla Ace and Chad Tyson, who rush things up a bit and add some brilliant piano keys into the mix. Another graceful effort, it pays homage to both originals in really emphatic fashion. An EP that’s hard not to fawn over, this is really great stuff from the Atlus imprint.
