Bar Musica is a brand new label that kicks off with a terrific first EP. It comes from the little known but highly talented J Paraguai who serves up two kicking tech house cuts. The EP also includes a great remix by the long established Bruno Pronsato which rounds things out in style and announces this label as one that is well worth watching in the future.
Across all four cuts there is lots of interesting stuff going on. The pick of the whole bunch, rather unsurprisingly I suppose, is the remix from American master Bruno Pronsato. He reworks a high tempo original into something more subtle and seductive that really gets under your skin with its trippy bells and slinky synths. Freaky music for freaky people. The original is an all out assault on your sense with mad whistles, flailing drums and wild percussion designed to blow minds, probably in Ibiza. Ble then finds Paraguai show his mastery of intricate rhythms as he lasers up tense synths, slapping drums and jittery percussive patterns in to high octane minimal that will make you want to get loose. A final Atles tool track is loopy, hard hitting and designed to wig out the floor. This first EP is a great statement of intent from this sure to be essential label then.
