Josh Butler & Steve Mac ‘From The Vault’ (ORIGINS)

Whenever Rhythm Master Steve Mac delivers something new, our eyes should be wide open as this man’s output is guaranteed to be top notch as they say. Being in the business for a few decades this man knows a thing or two how to come up with serious dancefloor burners and that’s exactly what he underlines with his newest release together with pal and Origins label honcho Josh Butler. Having already featured on the label under his Rhythm Masters alias in late-2017, he continues his recent slew of material on home turf – with the pair delivering two deeper house cuts in the form of their two-track EP, ‘From The Vault’. Title track ‘From The Vault’ introduces a deep, wandering journey as punchy percussion licks go to work amongst low-slung, off-kilter melodies, and rich chords, whilst ‘No Need To Hide’ ups the tempo and welcomes skipping hats, jacking drums and further resonant chord work alongside an infectious lead vocal to close out proceedings in style.
This is House Music how it should sound like!
