Nice twist. This neatly contrasts Ben Westbeech’s smoothly soulful delivery with grainy, darkly flavoured rhythms which all combine into a notable release of sound. In fact, as ‘Lost In Time ‘ pushes the sinister envelope still further so this creates all the more impact on the listener. But that’s not quite all because a second listen reveals the creative subtitles amidst this heavy-duty production, and there are plenty. ‘Digital Paradise’ is next carving out its own distinct sound clash of smouldering electronics which are actually very uplifting, leaving the intense, haunting sensibilities of ‘Drone’ to complete this stunning set of productions.
