Four tracks of lovely analogue sounding house music here from French producer Kool Vibe, who has clearly been schooling himself at the church of Tony Humphries, Chez Damier and their ilk. This is proper sounding US vibes everywhere you look.
‘Basics’ is riddled with stabs and more swing than Barrymore’s most outrageous gatherings, with ‘Tribute’ doffing its cap to a more celebrated party starter in Todd Terry. The shift in directions and pulsating percussion mean the dues to Terrry are paid with aplomb. ‘Back to the Real’ and ‘Sleazy Joint’ don;t stray too far form the formula, but if you’re into.
