Cesare Vs Disorders’ Serialism has by all accounts had a 2016 to celebrate. With a series of excellent releases that showcase the more minimal and moodier soundscapes of techno, the labels upward trajectory seems certain to continue with the signing of internationally renowned Greek producer Kreon for its latest offering.
The Athens born producer otherwise known as Markos Spanoudakis’ has become one of the country’s finest exports for his unique brand of house and techno. Pushing out productions for almost a decade, his releases have seen him entertain crowds at Panorama Bar, Space & Concrete amongst others, and the Valtera EP is a four track offering that showcases exactly why he remains one of the best in the scene.
First up is Hualter, seven minutes of minimal groove compounded by its trippy sampling and its skewed synths designed to whip any dancefloor into a daze. Keeping things consistent, Forpsyche follows suit with it’s warped synth chords and an eerie, atmospheric build up, making it useful as either a set builder or after-party selection.
Next up we have Valtera, clocking in at over eleven minutes it’s an off-kilter dub-driven offering which, with its warbling bass and alien-esque vocals, it’s a masterful exploration into a distorting soundscape. Last up is Forpyke, a glitchy and haunting production that engages and rounds off the EP in suitably purposeful style.
